Cousin It Appears On Griddle
Photo By Todd Krainin Imperial Valley Press
CALEXICO, Calif. — The hottest thing on the griddle at the Las Palmas restaurant these days isn’t the food. It’s the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe that a cook says she saw in the griddle.
Yet another vague Rorschach which must be an image of <insert random mythological figure here>. This one’s especially weak, and looks a whole lot more like Cousin It from The Adams Family than Our Lady of Guadalupe. But please, by all means, do not think for yourself…follow the mindless zealots in their rush to see the griddle.
Discrimination Fail
Faith organizations and individuals who view homosexuality as sinful and refuse to provide services to gay people are losing a growing number of legal battles that they say are costing them their religious freedom.
Yes, “we have a right to discriminate against people” is a very compelling argument. If you’re out in the marketplace providing services, you can’t refuse your services to people just because they’re gay. That is not the erosion of your religious freedom. If it makes you feel better, look at it as a mandate from society to be more like the guy you say you worship. If you absolutely feel the need, feel free to hate anyone you want in private with the other members of your cult.
The marketplace doesn’t tolerate it anymore. Hey, maybe you guys should just go form a commune somewhere? I bet we could find room for all of you in Antarctica. For now, you’ll have to make due with your “Membership in a Civilized Society” fail.
Mecca Fail
Some 200 mosques in Islam’s holiest city, Mecca, point the wrong way for prayers, reports from Saudi Arabia say…
“In any case, it does not affect the prayers.”
It’s very important for Muslims to be facing in the direction of the Kaaba when they prey. They take it pretty seriously, it’s like “face the Kaaba or God doesn’t hear you, infidel” serious. Unfortunately, the people who built at least a couple hundred of the mosques in Mecca didn’t take it too seriously. I mean, lining something up with something else in the same city as you is pretty tough. It takes high tech equipment. And I mean really high tech…like a stick on a tripod.
Luckily they have some douche from the government to say “no worries, your prayers got heard.” It’s nice to see the the Middle East also has religious zealots who contradict their holy books for the sake of politics. I thought we had the market cornered on the decadence of faith and religious hipocrisy. See, we do have common ground with the folks in the Middle East after all!
